Research Associate
Boshuo Wang is currently a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, School of Medicine. He previously received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University and M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California, with his dissertation studying the electrode-tissue interface of retinal prosthesis using computational models. He joined Duke as a Postdoctoral Associate in 2016, and has been working with Dr. Warren Grill as well as Dr. Angel Peterchev and Dr. Stefan Goetz (Brain Stimulation Engineering Lab).
Boshuo's research focuses on computational modeling of non-invasive brain stimulation methods such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial electrical stimulation (e.g., temporal interference stimulation), as well as design and implementation of hardware such as coils and electronics for TMS and magnetogenetic neurostimulation. His research interests include neural prostheses and modulation, as well as related modeling, electrophysiology, and interface technology. Outside of work, he likes hiking and skiing.
